Should i go to the movies with my boyfriend or go take my sister to get her nails done?

My sister is 9 years of age.Should i go to the movies with my boyfriend or go take my sister to get her nails done?
You should take your sister out to get her nails done. She's family. She probably more important then some guy. He'll break-up eventually. you'll always be sisters though. ^_^ Good luck! lolShould i go to the movies with my boyfriend or go take my sister to get her nails done?
First of all, your sister is 9 years old. I mean why does a 9 year old need to get her nails done? I'm shocked no one has pointed this out already. But, whatever reasons there are, you should go take your sister, because family always comes first. Family will always (well, supposed to be) there for you. Besides, you can go to the movies any day.
I say go with your sister. Explain to your BF that you need to spend time with her. If he's good boyfriend, he'll understand. Your sister will appreciate it.
You should take your boyfriend to the movies.
Take your sister to get her nails done, or do them yourself and then go to the movies later.
get your sisters nail done before 1:oo p.m. then go to the movies with you man later in the evening.
Take your sister to get her nails done today, go to the movies with your boyfriend tomorrow.
Sister...family comes first...
Go with whoever you made plans with first.
go with your sister. It's a good test of how committed your bf is, and your sister will appreciate it more anyways.

Why is my dad freaking out about my black nails?

I'm 16, (ten more characters to add)Why is my dad freaking out about my black nails?
It is just a trend, but you have to remember that this trend means something different than what it used to. Your dad is part of a generation, where only drug addicts, bad girls, promiscuous girls, satanic girls and other low-life's, wore black nail polish. I remember, even when I was in high school, back in the 90's, that it was worn for shock value.

Now, back when I was 16, we all knew that the girls and even some of the guys who wore it, were harmless. Most were pretty smart, often involved in band or theatre, and were just trying to be a little shocking. It was right in there with wearing black lipstick or dying your hair jet black. Even the Goth kids were pretty harmless, and we didn't really have Emo yet, although the haircuts still existed. Those kids did get a little more attention, which is all they ever wanted, and it didn't really both too many people, unless you were pretty ignorant.

But see, your dad is probably older than I am. I'm only 30, although, I guess if I had, had a kid at 14, she'd be about your age, so theoretically, I'm old enough to have a kid your age. Likely though, he's probably in his 40s, and to him its a worrisome indicator. He's comparing you to the 16-year-old girls he knew, when he was 16. He's not keeping-up with modern trends and he's not really interested in what's cool now.

Like he said, ';It never leads to anything good.'; You have to understand, that he's taking an interest in you and is concerned for you. You should be happy you even have a father, much less a dad who's actually concerned about you. You should be happy he's paying attention to you, and noticing things like the colour of your nail polish. Do you have any idea how many girls don't have a father, much less a real dad? Do you have any idea, how many girls who do have a dad, have one that doesn't pay attention to them, and doesn't care about them or their well being? Cut the old man some slack. It may be he's a little ignorant about new tends, but he does care about you, and if you have to sacrifice a few trends, which you wont even care about a few years from now, then its worth it, to maintain your relationship with him.

I know that there are plenty of girls who would gladly throw away their black nail polish, if it meant having a dad who cared about them, this much. When he stops caring and starts ignoring you, then you can worry. I wouldn't fight him on this. It seems arbitrary, and you can always wear all the black nail polish you want, once you move away and go to a university. You'll probably be leaving in the next year or two anyway.

There is kinda an invisible line actually. Its that line where dad's don't know what's cool. They can only compare it to what things where like when they were that age. Yeah, its not fair. Most dad's aren't even really all that interested in learning what's cool either. The one's who tend to be kinda absent and let you get away with one thing, tend to be really absent and let you get away with everything and they just don't care. Be happy he cares.

I think you should take it off to please him, but you can express yourself in other ways. There are other trendy things you can do. I remember, when I was just starting college, one trendy thing was to do different designs with shoe laces. This group would often buy trendy sneakers, and then would buy different colour laces, and would even lace them differently. There are apparently books and websites, that feature instructions on how to do fancy lacings. This never really offended anyone, and even if you could only afford one trendy pair of shoes, the laces were cheap, and it was a way to keep them looking different, and interesting. I think that's probably still trendy in some areas. Its one of those things that never offended anyone, and didn't really have a secondary meaning. Why is my dad freaking out about my black nails?
Well, sometimes Dads are like that. Often, if you just resolve the initial conflict, like in your case, you took the polish off, then people are more willing to listen. In his case, your Dad was then willing to listen to you, when you explained it was just a new trend, %26amp; doesn't mean anything bad.

hi how are you? dads what can I say they sometimes worry to much about things that we don't think it is a big deal/he just loves you so much that he worries about your appearance.

Maybe your dad thinks you are going to the dark side or something just because you are wearing nail polish.

Even though it is a trend right now for you and maybe your friends why not just take it off to please your dad maybe you could put a different colour you like and then decorate with a little black on the nails cause it does not look so bad for your dad (like black spots or lines or whatever you thinking of doing for decoration).

I am not telling you what to do it is your decision of course but do you really want to fight and argue with your dad over black nail polish?

good luck with your decision and I think it is a good Idea to talk to your dad about it one on one in a mature manner

all the best
I sometimes paint my nails black, I am not goth or a devil worshiper. LoL. Tell your dad its just a color and it's not like you're pregnant or have piercings or tattoo's. Tell him there are other things he should worrying about other than the color you decide to paint YOUR nails!

You should wear all black one day and wear black lipstick and eyeshadow and tell him you are a satainist just to get a rise out of him and when he gets shocked or mad tell him ';just kidding it's just black nail polish dad!';
It's just a trend, like you said. There was a HUGE freak out back in the 50's-60's era over bright red nail polish and lip stick, you were a sult (spelled wrong on purpose!) if you wore this color...see how silly it is now?

You should probably just reassure him that you are not in a cult of Devil Worshipers who are sacrificing small animals in your spare time, unfortunately that's the stigma attached to black these days..

Good luck!
so it seems that DR. Stef is saying that if you paint your nails black then you will end up pregnant... WHAT ARE THEY PUTTING IN FINGERNAIL POLISH THESE DAYS?! OMG!!!!!! Anyways... enough of listening to the moronic DR. over there. If you like it, sit down with your dad and ask him why he feels that way. Explain to him that you arn't out there doing drugs or drinking (and if you are, lie to him for gods sake. we don't want him to have a heart attack) and tell him that you like the way they look. Try to come to a compromise with him.
Tell him there are far more worse things you could be doing than painting your nails black.

Lol or just simlpy ask him why it makes him so upset, and explain to him it is just a trend and you like how they look.
Explain to him that's it's just a fashion trend. Maybe get some magazines and show him celebrities or models with black nails. Not all people with black nailpolish are goth or emo (maybe that's what he's thinking..).
he is right I got married in black nails

didnt turn into anything good
black nails are goth,,,,,add yellow or orange stripes show some respect,,,,meet half way on this,,,,,

I wear arcylic nails--how do I keep them from discoloring in the tanning bed?

There are all sorts of UV products do any of them keep discoloration from occuring???I wear arcylic nails--how do I keep them from discoloring in the tanning bed?
Acrylic nails should not yellow, not if they are made from top quality acrylics. If they do are yellow, it is most often due to a product which you are using, like nail polishes, and will only stain the very top of the nail, not the entire way through the nail. Suntanning accelerators, and lotions, cremes, etc., can also stain the surface of your nails. Just be sure to wash your hands good after using any of these products - before tanning, if possible. Always use a basecoat when using polish on acrylic nails. This will help to prevent staining, and it will make the polish last longer by giving it something to adhere to. A gentle buffing should remove surface stains. The reason this happens is that acrylic nails are porous, and thus, products such as nail polish - especially darker shades, can easily penetrate the surface

If they are stained all the way through the nail, then chances are that you have gotten either poor quality acrylic applied to your nails, or acrylic which contains a substance called MMA(cheap, and will ruin your nails, and possibly be harmful to your health as well. This is not for use on nails, and it is illegal to use on nails in many states. This is not for use on nails, ever. But its really cheap to buy, so lots of discount salons use it anyway). These will yellow all the way through. Always make sure you go to a reputable salon which uses nothing but top quality products. The containers which hold the liquid and powders should be clearly labeled. If they are not, then this is usually a sign that it is not a good quality product. Always ask which acrylic product line they are using. If the containers are unmarked, as is usually the case at discount salons, then don't be afraid to ask them to show you the original containers. If they have nothing to hide, then they should not have a problem with this sort of request. Look for names on the containers such as Creative Nail Design, Tammy Taylor, Entity Beauty, Young Nails, and there are a few more good ones too.

One way to avoid yellow nails altogether is to get gel nails. Be certain that you are getting real gel nails. Gel nails uses nothing but gels, they have the consistency of a hair styling gel, and come in various colors, most commonly clear, white, and numerous shades of pink, though there are also lots of other colors available now as well. Gel nails do NOT contain any liquid and powder. If the tech is applying any L %26amp; P, then you are getting acrylic nails, not gel nails. It happens all the time, beware of this. And there is no such thing as ';powder gel'; either, though some scammers will refer to their 'gel' as being this. Gel is gel, not powder. Period.

About Solar nails: They are regular acrylics. They are not some new type of nail, or nail product. Don't be fooled into thinking that they are not acrylic, because they are though lots of discount salons are marketing them as some sort of new nail product. This is false. The term is a play on words, and typically refers to Pink %26amp; White nails (Permanent French). Thus, the price should never be any higher than it is for P%26amp;W's, because thats what they are! SoarNail is an acrylic product line that is made by Creative Nail Design. It was first introduced back in the later 1970's, and is still used today, though not very often because the acrylic industry has changed and improved for the better over the years so that much better acrylic products are now being used. But, CND remains to be one of the top nail companies in existence because they have kept up with all the changes, and this is reflected in their current nail product offerings including acrylics, gels and many more nail care products. Just a bit of info for ya!I wear arcylic nails--how do I keep them from discoloring in the tanning bed?
If it's doing that to your nails imagine what its doing to your body as you regularly do this. From a guys point of view, the fake baked girls don't look good and everybody knows that its fake. You can also tell the women in their thirties who have been doing this for a long time look so much older and their skin is nasty. Do you want to be one of those women with wrinkly cleavage? A healthy glow from a LITTLE sun exposure looks so much better.
You could use a darker polish, or if you like French tips you could switch from acrylic to gel (they don't really discolor). Or you could put cotton around your fingertips before you get in, or even maybe douse them in SPF 50.
Oh gross. Tanning and acrylic nails. Make sure your polish doesn't have any formaldehyde in it. This is what causes the yellwing.
Try solar nails instead. They're similar to acryllic, and cost slightly more, but they don't turn yellow when you tan.
there are caps you can wear on your nails made special for arcyic nails

if not all i can think of is cover up the tips with lotion or towels
if you go to a good tanning place they have nail covers you can buy/use. Ask them next time you go in there!
don't go fake baking...it is really bad for your skin and nails
well your fake..ha ha fake nails and fake tan ha
put something over them when u tan
Try having a gel set put on next time you have your nails done. They last longer and won't discolor like acrylic nails. I have had this problem before too.

  • I seem to have developed ridges on my finger nails. Is this a vitamin deficiency ?

Can this be treated ?I seem to have developed ridges on my finger nails. Is this a vitamin deficiency ?
Fingernail condition has been used for thousands of years to accurately diagnose ailments and maladies in the body. Chinese physicians mastered this practice.

Fingernail changes may signify a number of disorders elsewhere in the body. These changes may indicate illness even before the rest of the body shows any signs. You should always seek professional help if any of the below changes are observed on the nail.

Ridges running lengthwise may indicate a kidney disorders

Brittle nails may indicate possible iron deficiencyI seem to have developed ridges on my finger nails. Is this a vitamin deficiency ?
Yes it is, it is a vitamin or mineral deficiency, but I'm sorry I can't remember exactly which one. I had a mineral and vitamin book somewhere I read it in. I know white spots indicate zinc deficiency. Try a Naturopath for advice?

How do I stop dirt from getting under my nails?

I just stopped biting my nails but whenever I check there's dirt under them! I don't go playing in the mud so I don't know how it gets there, is there a way to stop dirt getting under my nails without having to remove it myself?

thanks in advance! How do I stop dirt from getting under my nails?
Congratulations! Nailbiting is a difficult habit to break. Good for you.

If you're going to be doing something you know will cause this problem (like gardening), dig your fingernails into a bar of soap and slide across the bar. This will coat the underside of the nail making clean up really easy.

Otherwise, you'll need to get a small nail brush and give your nails a swipe when necessary. Don't get into the habit of using pointed objects to scrape. At some point, you'll cut into the tissue joining the nail and your finger (ooooh! so painful!)

Keep up the good work and treat yourself to a manicure. How do I stop dirt from getting under my nails?
It isn't posible to remove dirt from underneath your nails without phisically doing it yourself.

    Unfortunatlely.

But you can try 'natural buffer' which is sold at walmart and it is this stuff u put under your nails and no dirt ever goes there.

    xx
yes but u would have to go to a nail place so they could do it that should but it may

cost and if that doesn't work then u would have to clean them your self.
