How can I stop biting my nails?

Because stress levels up at this time of year thanks to teachers cramming stuff in, I start to bite my nails, which is very bad because it's flu season!





I've tried that bitter tasting nail-coat stuff, but it wears off too quickly. It has no effect on me whatsoever. I tried sucking on peppermints, but all that did was give me a sugar rush. I'm going to try sugar free peppermints, but do you have any other suggestions?How can I stop biting my nails?
Try out another different brand of the bitter tasting nail coat stuff. Or think of it like this...think of the huge amount of germs you are putting into your mouth when you are biting your nails without washing your hands. Also, try buying something you really like...some of your favorite candy to eat during these times that make you most nervous. Think happy thoughts, whatever it takes to occupy your mind from wanting you to bite your nails.How can I stop biting my nails?

i have the same problem and it's always when i'm stressed out about something. i usually go and get my nails done. i get fake nails put on and that way my nails can grow back and i won't bite my real nails.
Keep your nails painted all the time so you won't want to bite your nails and mess them up. I used to bite my nails constantly when I was younger but I stopped doing it so much once I got older and started wearing nail polish.
I used to have this problem. What I ended up doing was putting something in my mouth whenever I felt like I wanted to bite my nails. Gum worked well, or whatever wouldn't damage your teeth should help out.
u should wear gloves or paint ur nails lik get the gel stuff so it doesnt come off
i have the same problem try sugar free free gum that works for me in school. maybe it'll work for you

I've had good luck with Revlon nails, just get the ones with the drop glue bottle instead of the brushon glue. If you don't wash dishes without gloves they should last a week or more.


And if you lose one or break one, you have another one right there.


Salon nails look a bit better, but I think they are harder on the real nail.
Professionally, the ones in the stores will pop off within a matter of hours. Professionals should last 2 to 4 weeks.

Im right there with ya. I myself had to wean off of a nail biting addiction. What I did was I stopped biting one nail at a time, until i wasnt biting any of them. I let them grow out a little, then I trimmed them all very short, so that they could start fresh. It took a few more trims, and i still cut them short every now and again to give them a break, but now they are lovely half moon shaped an long.





just keep at it. They may look unhealthy at first, but dont give up. It also helps to buff them every week or so. It improves circulation to the nail and makes them really shiny. :)

If I get regular fills do I ever need another full set of acrylic nails?

I have had acrylic nails on for a little bit over a month. I have had them filled regularly. The white tip they originally applied has been trimmed off due to growth. How do I get that back? i don't know, but i find her nails repulsive. i mean how in the world does she find that attractive, and how in the world does she hold stuff and drive?? i'd snap my nail off picking up anything if my nails were that long.

Do a french manicure. if you want it to look fancy and profesional just take tape and put it on the ends of your nails but so theres more nail left to paint on then just paint it white and take the tape off and it will look professional. Have Fun Tonight!!!!!!!!!!!
